Lisbon bans through traffic from the city centre for three months

At the end of April, the Portuguese capital started a trial to restrict motorised vehicle traffic in the city centre. Although it is not yet known if the ban will be made permanent, it is expected that it will contribute to changing citizens' behaviour and encourage them to use more sustainable mobility options. Moreover, the city will take advantage of the reduced traffic to undertake major infrastructure works on new public services.
