Barcelona, 1 August.- In recent weeks a total of 825 tobacconists located in over 160 municipalities in the Barcelona area have become official outlets for selling and topping up T-mobilitat cards. 

At these establishments users can purchase cardboard T-mobilitat cards with any compatible integrated pass and top up passes on any previously purchased contactless card, just like they can do at the vending machines at railway stations. However, users cannot sign up, acquire the personalised plastic T-mobilitat card or receive help to resolve queries or incidents at these points of sale.

A new feature of these outlets (where magnetic transport tickets have been sold until now) is that users of social passes such as the T-jove or the ones for large and single-parent families can now top up their passes, provided that they have a personalised card with the previously configured profile. 

These establishments will lead to greater territorial balance in terms of access to the transport passes, particularly for people who don’t have a railway station nearby or don’t regularly use the app to manage their card. They will now be able to purchase cardboard cards and top up any T-mobilitat card.

Other establishments such as newspaper stands and other businesses could be added to the current network of points of sale in the future.
