Organisational structure

The governing body of the ATM is the Board of Directors; the Executive Committee is a smaller body for management and administration to which the Board of Directors delegates the appropriate powers.

The person tasked with the general management performs the function of the primary executive level and he/she is appointed by the Board of Directors on the proposal of its chairman/woman.

• Board of Directors

  The Board of Directors is the governing body of the ATM. It has eighteen full members, nine representing the Government of Catalonia, seven representing the constituent local administrations (Barcelona City Council and the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona), two representing the Association of Municipalities for Mobility and Urban Transport (AMTU) and two representing the State Administration in the roles of observers.

  The composition of the Board of Directors is as follows:

• Executive Committee

  The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors has six members, three representing the Government of Catalonia, two representing the constituent local administrations and one representing the AMTU.

  It has the general function of examining and submitting to the Board of Directors proposals on planning instruments for the Collective Public Transport System, funding agreements and service contracts with administrations and operators, the fare system, the annual budgets and so on.

ATM Mobility Council

The Mobility Council is the civic and social consultative and participatory body related to the functioning of the collective public transport system and mobility.

• Members

  • Chairman/woman: the person who is the deputy vice-chairman/woman of the ATM.
  • One member of the Board of Directors for each consortium administration or member entity.
  • Representatives of the Federation of Municipalities of Catalonia and the Catalan Association of Municipalities and Counties.
  • Representatives of the best-established business organisations in Catalonia.
  • Representatives of the best-established trade unions in Catalonia.
  • Representatives of the most representative consumer and user associations in Catalonia.
  • Representatives of associations and collectives with particular relevance in the field of public transport and mobility.
  • The person tasked with the general management of the ATM.
  • The secretary of the Board is a member of the consortium’s executive management and he/she is proposed by the general management.
