Integrated Fare System

The Integrated Fare System is an agreement between administrations and transport operators that involves the creation of a common ticket. With this single ticket, users can move between different modes of transport and fare zones without facing an economic penalty. It was implemented in January 2001, when the fare integration began between the 48 operators that are part of the ATM and the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Barcelona City Council, the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB) and the Association of Municipalities for Mobility and Urban Transport (AMTU), creating a single large network.
