• The price of the 10-trip T-casual pass will be same as the one applied since 2020 but there will be no discount on it in 2023

Barcelona, 28 December 2022.- By virtue of Royal Decree-Law 20/2022 of 27th December guaranteeing the 30% discount established by the State administration on certain transport tickets (T-usual, T-jove), subject to the additional 20% discount that the ATM’s consortium administrations approved on Monday 19th December at the meeting of its Board of Directors, public transport fares will retain the same discounts throughout the first half of 2023, except for the T-casual pass, which will not receive any allowance.

The discounts are retained for the most recurring passes

Discounts are established for 2023. These discounts may be revised in the second half of 2023, as the State aid is not guaranteed for the whole year.

It should be recalled that the prices of transport tickets have remained frozen since 2020 and that the temporary rate reductions have been applied to these prices. Thus, the same price has been applied to the T-casual pass since 2020, but now it receives the discount applied in the period from September to December 2022.

Tarifes de Rodalies de Catalunya

The extension of the free recurring passes of Suburban Rail Services of Catalonia (Rodalies) is ratified under the new terms and conditions of use for 2023 established by the State administration.

Expiry of 2022 transport tickets

The range of passes will remain the same as in 2022, which is why integrated passes purchased in 2022 will be valid until 31st December 2023, with the exception of the T-casual pass.

Thus, only T-casual passes purchased in 2022 will expire on 15th January 2023, as previously announced. All other integrated tickets purchased in 2022 can be validated until the 31st December 2023. The T-verda and T-16 passes will retain the expiry date of each ticket.

Exchanges of passes

Since passes purchased in 2022 can be used as usual throughout the first half of 2023, no exchanges will be admitted.

In the case of T-casual passes, unused ones may be exchanged for ones of the same type by paying the corresponding price difference (if applicable). These exchanges can be made until 31st March 2023.

Extension of the validity of the T-jove card

The Board of Directors of the ATM has approved an extension of the validity of the T-jove card by five years, in other words, until the holder turns thirty (it is currently for people aged under twenty-five). This measure will be activated when the relevant technical, operational and administrative issues have been resolved. The date on which it comes into force will be announced in due course.
