  • The works to finalise the new section, corresponding to the first phase of connecting the two tram networks, will conclude with a “white run,” the final phase before the service is expected to begin in the autumn of 2024.

This Monday, 29th July, the tram circulation tests will continue along the Diagonal Avenue, in the section between Plaça de les Glòries and Carrer Girona.

This testing period, which began on 15th July, will extend throughout the summer and will serve to verify the integration of the tram with the other systems: tracks, continuous ground power supply system, stops, as well as traffic light regulation and the railway signalling system.

In this way, it is expected that some convoys will make various trips along the new section of phase 1 of the tram connection. The tests will be conducted both during the day and at night, depending on technical requirements, and will allow the necessary checks and adjustments to be made to enable the service to start in the autumn of 2024.

The outcome of the integration tests that began this July will mark the start of the “white run,” the final phase before the service launch.
