Barcelona, June 2.- The ’Autoritat del Transport Metropolità' will actively participate in the UITP Global Public Transport Summitt in Barcelona, the largest congress of public transport and sustainable mobility in the world, which is held at the Gran Via site of Fira de L'Hospitalet de Llobregat on 4 -7 June.

The event is organised by the International Union of Public Transport (UITP) and has the collaboration of different local transport operators such as TMB, FGC and Renfe. The ATM of Barcelona, as the central agent of mobility and public transport, will have a special role, as an exhibitor - under the motto 'Barcelona's transportation made easy', and also as sponsors of the welcome ceremony that will take place on Sunday, 4 June at the Palauet Albéniz de Montjuïc.

Thus, during the three days of the congress, the consortium will present its most outstanding projects, such as T-mobilitat, the tram connection works along Diagonal or the implementation of Low Emission Zones. It will do so in the form of presentations and debates in Ágora, a space that will become a meeting point for international agents in the industry.

The event will include various activities for the conference participants, and in the case of the Barcelona ATM, technical visits will be offered to the T-mobilitat centres (CAI and CGIM) and the tramway connection works on Thursday, 8 June.

In the presentations section of the congress, the director of the ATM's Mobility area, Lluís Alegre will participate in the presentation THE PERFECT MATCH: WHEN URBAN PLANNING MEETS MOBILITY PLANNING of Wednesday, 7 June. For its part, on the same day, the director of the Systems and Innovation area, Carme Fàbregas, will moderate the session FROM ABT TO MAAS: ENABLING AN ENHANCED CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE THROUGH ADVANCED PAYMENT AND TICKETING.

It is estimated that the Global Public Transport Summit will receive up to 2,500 participants and will be visited by 15,000 people from all over the world, who will share the latest trends in public transport and sustainable mobility on key issues such as the decarbonisation of public transport, energy and financing challenges and the digital transformation.
