Barcelona, 19th September.- This weekend some forty people visited the T-mobilitat Centre to see the facilities that support the new system for validation and management and also some day-to-day operational details of the facilities. The activity was part of Barcelona city council's initiative to open the doors to different places linked to mobility in the city and its metropolitan area, for European Mobility Week 2022.

As well as coordinating the programme with the different transport operators in the network
who wanted to offer a range of activities, ATM, the Barcelona transport authority, wanted to show off T-mobilitat as an operations and management centre. The premises, which have officially been in operation since April 2021, are divided between CAI, the service and information centre, which deals with attention to the public concerning matters related to T-mobilitat, and the transport information management centre, a control room that receives information from the public transport network and collates it to give a constant overview of its operation.

The different visits on Saturday and Sunday offered the chance to know these two places,
find out at first hand some figures and operational information of interest and then go home with T-mobility, if visitors wanted. This is the first time the centre has opened its doors to
the public, who could sign up free of charge; up to now, the facilities had hosted
media and people from the public transport sector, like operators, specialist
bodies and authorities.
