Barcelona, 7 March.- As recently announced by the Minister of Territory from 15 March, the validity of the T-jove transport ticket is extended by 5 years, so that people between 25 and 29 years old can also be users. This age extension is done simultaneously with a price unification: T-jove will have a single price and will allow you to travel unlimitedly for 3 months in all the integrated services of the 6 tariff zones of the Barcelona ATM. With respect to the public transport services integrated in the 7 zone, it is expected that they can be incorporated during the autumn of 2023.

This single price of €80, equivalent to the previous price of the T-jove in a zone, currently has a 50% discount (by virtue of RDL 20/2022, of response measures to the economic and social consequences of the War of Ukraine and the agreement of the Board of Directors of the ATM).

This innovation will apply in the same way to T-jove titles for single-parent families and large families. so the single prices for travelling through the 6 zones, VAT included, will be as follows: T-jove, €40; T-jove FM/FN general, €32, and T-jove FM/FN especial, €20.

T-mobilitat support

The T-jove title is the first title offered exclusively in T-mobilitat support; this will happen from 15 March, and coincides with this extension of age (for those under 30) and scope (6 zones) of the T-jove. Therefore, all people who want to travel with T-jove will have to do so from this date with T-mobilitat support: either with the personalized card, or with the mobile application that allows validation with devices with Android system and NFC.

You should register online through one of the three available platforms: T-mobilitat, TMB and FGC. In the case of requesting a support card, it will be received at the address indicated. In the case of opting for validation with an Android mobile phone with NFC, the availability of the title will be immediate.

Old T-jove cards can continue to be validated in the system

The ticket vending machines in railway stations (metro, FGC, Rodalies and TRAM), as well as the service offices of public transport operators, will no longer dispense magnetic T-jove tickets and will only offer the loading of the new T-jove on T-mobilitat card holder. This is what transport operators have been warning since 2 March.

It should be noted that the old T-jove cards (cardboard with magnetic strip technology) can continue to be validated in the public transport system as normal and until the end of the 90 days of their validity throughout 2023. The conditions of these cards, however, will be the same as when they were acquired, that is to say, they cannot be used for tariff zones higher than the zone of the title purchased.

Ticket sales channels

The sale of integrated tickets for T-mobilitat is carried out in the official sales channels of the new system:

- The T-mobilitat, TMB and FGC in the case of card purchase.
- TheT-mobilitat, TMB App and FGC T-mobilitat applications
- The TMB, Ferrocarrils (mainline rail), Rodalies (suburban rail) and TRAM self-service machines.
- The T-mobilitat support points set up in the public transport network

Other points of sale of public transport operators

The old T-jove cards, which were distributed through authorized establishments such as tobacconists, kiosks and lottery establishments, will be withdrawn from these points of sale in the short term.

Validations of T-jove

The month of January 2023 closed with 8,241,987 T-jove validations, of which 2,095,879 were already done with the T-mobilitat system (1,711,550 T-jove and another 384,329 with T-jove FM/FN). The remaining 6,146,108 were made using the magnetic system (75%).

With the extension of the benefits of this new T-jove, the aim is to encourage the use of sustainable modes not only in recurring journeys for studies or work, but also by acquiring new habits and using the pass in a more generalised way for all young people's journeys
